We’re supposedly in a war against radical Islam, and Europe’s big news yesterday was that a Serb leader who picked on Muslims is now in UN custody, and is going to face an international tribunal as if he were the second coming of Hitler.
French and German diplomats are happy about the move, even as Muslims are taking over whole swaths of French and German cities.

Europe is gettting a lot of it all of a sudden. Wonder why.
EU cracks down on illegal immigrants
Europe’s hardening attitudes toward immigration found a voice in the EU Parliament on Wednesday, as legislators passed new rules for expelling illegals amid a widening crackdown in the United States.
As the global economy slows, governments in well-to-do countries are coming under more pressure to act on illegal immigration. While the European rules do not lay the groundwork for workplace raids as in America, they do contain such measures such as long detention periods.
The European Union is dealing with tension over immigrants: Italians blame foreigners for a rise in crime, France is grappling with violence in immigrant-heavy communities, and Belgium has come under criticism for its treatment of foreigners in detention centers.
The rest of the article goes on to say that most recent arrivals into the EU are from North Africa, the ex-USSR and the Balkans. However, the natives aren’t worked up that much over the latter two.
Basil, Switzerland: Most of the prostitutes are Brazilian. The Normandy region of France? Heavily black. We don’t need to talk about London and Paris, which seems like any given American inner city.
Ireland Remains Irish June 13, 2008

For awhile, anyway. Irish voters rejected the European Union treaty by a 54-46 margin in yesterday’s vote. And Ireland’s rejection on the treaty also helps the cause of nationalists in other countries that have ratified it, because the treaty and the continental unification it represents is invalid unless a certain number of countries ratify it.
Even if the EU does get enough countries to ratify their treaty, Ireland, with its “Celtic Tiger” economy, and its rejection, is a huge blow to the EU’s legitimacy.

“Al Qaeda” translates into English as “the base,” and now AQ has a European base as of today — the newly independent Kosovo. Thank you Bill Clinton.
BBC:
Kosovo MPs proclaim independence
Kosovo’s parliament has unanimously endorsed a declaration of independence from Serbia, in an historic session.
The declaration, read by Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, said Kosovo would be a democratic country that respected the rights of all ethnic communities.
The US and a number of EU countries are expected to recognise Kosovo on Monday.
So, we’re instantly recognizing the Kosovar secession. Where was this mentality 147 years ago?
Otherwise, this is not good news for our people and our cause. It symbolizes the decline of the West and the rise of Islam. And you know who will fill the void in the new independent Kosovo.
And there’s another problem. There are Serbs scattered all over Kosovo, and they’re the majority in the subsections that border Serbia. I bet we’re looking at another Northern Ireland, only this time it will be intertwined with the current Christian vs Islam geopolitical imbrogliana.
UPDATE 2/18: And it looks like we’re getting in the middle of that imbrogliana. This writer oft uses the famous Otto von Bismarck quote, and in this case, since Bismarck specifically refers to the Balkans, it’s more prescient than ever.

CNN:
Gates: Europe must fight extremism
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates has urged European nations to commit more troops to help fight extremism in Afghanistan or risk the survival of the NATO alliance.
Gates has recently complained that countries like the United States, Britain, and Canada are doing the bulk of the fighting while others — specifically Germany, France, Italy and Turkey — are not doing enough.
Addressing the Munich Conference on Security Policy, where Afghanistan was a central topic, Gates said on Sunday he was speaking “directly to the people of Europe” with a warning that Islamic extremism is a real threat to them that will not go away.
“You know all too well about the attacks in Madrid and London,” Gates said. “But there have also been multiple smaller attacks in Istanbul, Amsterdam, Paris, and Glasgow, among others. Numerous cells and plots have been disrupted in recent years as well — many of them seeking large-scale death and destruction.”
Sure, Europe “must fight extremism,” but that sort of charity has to begin at home. Germany, France and Italy have the right idea. The whole of the Middle East isn’t worth the bones of one single Pomeranian musketeer. How will sending more troops to the impossible imbrogliana that is Afghanistan preclude terrorist attacks in Madrid, London, Paris, Amsterdam and Glasgow?

The Australian:
Right-wingers gather against ‘Islamisation’
SEVERAL European [conservative] parties announced a new organisation aimed at fighting the “Islamisation” of Europe.
The group dubbed “Cities against Islamisation” was presented to the media in the northern Belgian city of Antwerp by Filip Dewinter, head of the [conservative] Belgian party Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest) along with Austrian FPOE leader Heinz-Christian Strace and Robert Spieler of the regionalist Alsace First group.
Parties from Britain (the British National Party), Denmark, Germany and Italy were also represented at the launch of the group which has a road-sign-style crossed-out mosque as its logo.
Thirty members of the new organisation then set off on a walk around areas of Antwerp with a high immigrant population.
Belgium’s second city Antwerp has a cosmopolitan population that includes a substantial minority originating from Muslim countries.
It has also been the main bastion of Vlaams Belang for the last 20 years, as the [conservatve] party pursues its goal of an independent Flemish state.

Chertoff says Europe poses terrorism threat
LONDON (Reuters) - Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said on Wednesday that one of the biggest threats to U.S. security may now come from within Europe.
In an interview with BBC radio, Chertoff said that American authorities were becoming increasingly aware of a real risk of Europe becoming a “platform for terrorists”.
(snip)
Chertoff’s comments came after reports that British intelligence services are investigating an Islamist Web site which said that a branch of al Qaeda had been established in Britain.
Security experts fear a posting on the site, urging young Muslim men to rise up against what it called infidels such as Prime Minister Gordon Brown and former Prime Minister Tony Blair, may be genuine.
Yet, Chertoff could not bring himself to blame radical Islam, much less make a racial qualification. It’s that kind of racial liberalism as practiced in Europe that is making Europe the launchpad for terrorism that it has become.
Austrian Citizens, German Police Protest Open Borders December 17, 2007

Hopes and concerns as EU lifts borders
A minute after midnight on Thursday, the EU will lift border checks with nine of its newest members, setting aside the last remainders of the Iron Curtain in a move some fear could make life easier for criminals.
Travelers will be able to drive from Warsaw to Porto or Prague to Paris without showing their passport, when the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia join the border-free zone on December 21.
(snip)
A recent poll showed 75 percent of Austrians believe extending Schengen to the EU’s borders with Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the Balkans will result in more crime. More than half opposed the move.
Hundreds of German policemen marched through Frankfurt on Oder on the Polish border last month to protest. “When the border disappears, the radius for criminals increases,” said Ruediger Holecek, spokesman for the German police union.
MORE CRIME?
French criminologist Xavier Raufer said the EU was not serious about ensuring its security and did not do enough to coordinate police action. “Adding 9 more countries … only adds to this fundamental problem,” he told Reuters.
Actually, crime could increase in the other direction: French and German non-whites could pour into Eastern Europe and wreak havoc there.

Zimbabwe a disaster, Merkel tells South Africa’s Mbeki
But then the first few paragraphs say this:
PRETORIA (AFP) - Robert Mugabe is presiding over a disaster in Zimbabwe but should still be entitled to attend a forthcoming Europe-Africa summit, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Friday.
Summing up talks in Pretoria with President Thabo Mbeki, who is a mediator between Zimbabwe’s opposition and President Mugabe’s ruling party, Merkel said she had made clear her disquiet about the situation across South Africa’s northern border.
“The situation is a very difficult one. It’s a disastrous one, which I very clearly stated in our conversation,” the German leader told a press conference with Mbeki during her first sub-Saharan Africa tour.
She declined to back calls for Mugabe to be barred from a summit between African Union and European Union leaders in Lisbon in December, which British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has threatened to boycott if the Zimbabwean head of state attends.
Remember, the EU-wide travel ban against Mugabe and his chief regime lieutenants is supposedly the EU’s great punishment for his anti-white near-genocidal and dispossessionist policies for his country. If Merkel, a representative of Germany’s center-right political party, can’t even bring herself to enforce that putrid and laughable “punishment,” then she might as well praise Mugabe, because she is demonstrating herself to be a fangless snake. Does she actually think that Mugabe is afraid of her verbal condemnation?
And what’s with this business of her talking with President Mbeki of South Africa about the disaster that is Zimbabwe? Like South Africa itself is paradise? South Africa is about one decade behind Zimbabwe in its own degeneration and anti-white dispossession.

Taking this Agence France Presse article at face value would lead one to think that the European Union wants to crack down on Johnny Jihad’s use of the internet for terrorist purposes. But keep in mind that this is the same EU whose member states, for the most part, can’t pander to Islam or its adherents enough. What gives?
Here’s a clue:
The Nazi-hunting Simon Wiesenthal Center said in a report this month that radical Muslims and other extremists had mastered the use of the Internet as a tool for propaganda, organizing and education.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center is part of the Paranoia-Industrial Complex, a cadre of groups, organizations, foundations and individual shysters, whose most notable members are the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Pro-Defamation League (ADL), who make money peddling irrational fear about right-wingers.
Therefore, these EU proposals have nobody but conservatives in their crosshairs.
Gordon Brown Rattles His Sabres September 20, 2007

And maybe this snake has fangs. But does the poison have any toxicity?
Prime Minister Gordon Brown proposed new sanctions against Zimbabwe on Thursday and threatened to boycott an EU-African summit in December if its President Robert Mugabe attended.
The government in Harare said Brown was “wasting his time” by warning he would stay away from the talks in Lisbon, insisting the 83-year-old president had been invited and was going, and the president of neighbouring Zambia said he would boycott the summit if Mugabe were excluded.
Portuguese Foreign Minister Luis Amado later said he would prefer Brown to attend the meeting than Mugabe, but that no invitations had yet been sent out. He promised to work towards resolving the situation in the coming weeks.
Brown, whose comments were applauded by Zimbabwean activists and rights groups, said Mugabe’s presence in the Portuguese capital would flout a European Union travel ban on him and his entourage.
“President Mugabe is the only African leader to face an EU travel ban. There is a reason for this — the abuse of his own people,” he wrote in an article in The Independent newspaper.
(snip)
In addition, he called for EU sanctions against more than 100 individuals in Mugabe’s regime to be more widely applied.
EU sanctions — there’s a good laugh. If Mugabe shows up in Portugal, that’ll show you how useless the EU and any of its “sanctions” against Mugabe are. I’m sure those hundred cronies of his are shaking in their jack boots over the prospect of themselves facing an EU “travel ban” (insert laugh tracks here).
Sweden Struggles to Mix Oil and Water July 17, 2007

Breitbart/Agence France Presse:
Sweden struggles to integrate Muslim immigrants
Sweden has welcomed immigrants with open arms for decades but now it is grappling with how to integrate them into society, especially in the southern town of Malmoe amid a massive influx of refugees.
Once a thriving industrial town with full employment, Malmoe has seen many of its plants shut down since the 1990s. That, combined with a never-ending stream of foreigners arriving, has led to rising juvenile delinquency and rampant unemployment.
Of the town’s 280,000 inhabitants, a third are foreigners and 60,000 are Muslims.
(snip)
“We are an open city. We see these immigrants as a resource for our society,” Malmoe’s Social Democratic mayor Ilmar Reepalu told AFP.
(snip)
“Immigrants to Sweden have become political refugees. First there were people from South America, then Iran, Afghanistan and now Iraq,” he said.
“They come seeking asylum and not work,” he said.
He recalled the Scandinavian country’s generous humanitarian policies which provide immigrants with everything they need once they arrive.
(snip)
New arrivals tend to settle where they already have friends and family members, leading Swedes to desert some areas, such as Malmoe’s southeastern neighbourhood of Rosengaard.
(snip)
“That’s the case in the United States, France and Britain and now in Sweden, although at different levels,” he stressed.
If nothing is done, he said, the situation in Sweden could explode within 10 or 20 years, as it already has in other parts of Europe.
(snip)
The neighbourhood is clean, with plenty of greenery providing a nice backdrop for the modern brick buildings. But sprouting from every balcony or rooftop is a satellite dish, broadcasting programs for faraway countries.
Middle Eastern Muslims in Sweden are recreating their home countries in Sweden. One can imply from this article that the good progressive Swedes thought that non-white immigration would go so much better there because the whites in Sweden are so much more liberal, and far more compassionate, than those backwards knuckledraggers in the rest of the white world.
If “assimilation” happens in Sweden, it will be because the definition of the concept will be diluted, and that the famous white leftist governments in the Sweden will harshly criminalize and repress any white conservative opposition to diversity and immigration and Islamification of the country.
Browning of Europe Forces U.S. D.H.S. to Require Biometric Fingerprints For Citizens of E.U. Countries Visiting U.S.A. June 25, 2007

AP:
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Visitors from European nations traveling with visas or visa-free to the United States will soon have to give 10 digital fingerprints when entering the country, a senior U.S. Homeland Security official said Monday.
Border checks could also soon include other biometric data, such as facial and eye retina scans, as the U.S. upgrades security at its ports, airports and border crossings, said P.T. Wright, the operations director for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s US-VISIT Program.
All people from European nations and others participating in the U.S. Visa-Waiver program would have to give additional prints, as would people traveling from nations where visas are needed, he said.
Many European Union countries are becoming more and more non-white, and the most likely and visible minority in EU countries are Arab/Muslims. Remember, many of the details of the 9/11 attacks were plotted in Germany.
It’s not as if Hans from Germany, Frederico from Spain, Giovanni from Italy, Jean-Pierre from France, or Bjorn from Norway are so worrisome to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that they are the reason for this new biometric fingerprinting requirement. A better solution would be to require the fingerprints from certain kinds of people, but racial profiling was apparently not considered here, and would be resisted mightily if it were.
Ironically, the American government is putting pressure on the EU to admit Turkey and Albania as members. If there was no good reason for this fingerprinting rule before, there would be after this would happen.
Also what could be at play here is an increasing rivalry between the Anglo-American power structure and the emerging Continental European, i.e. European Union, i.e. Franco-Germanic, establishment.
French EU Architect Admits to Unpopularity of His Plans June 22, 2007

On a continent with strong national identities, difficulties remain in shifting power toward a federal center. That shift is being engineered more by elites unwilling to put the question to a public vote. Even former French president Valéry Giscard D’Éstaing, the plan’s architect, says the French are adopting “without knowing it, the proposals that we dare not present to them directly.”
M. D’Éstaing knows that various European nationalities have too much loyalty to their people to sacrifice too much of it to an excessively strong European central government.
