World Net Daily:

Stephen Jarislowsky, a billionaire money manager and investor the Canadian newspaper Globe and Mail bills as the Canadian Warren Buffet, has told a parliamentary committee Canada and the United States both should abandon their national dollar currencies and move to a regional North American currency as soon as possible.

“I think we have to really seriously start thinking of the model of a continental currency just like Europe,” Jarislowsky told the Canadian House of Commons’ finance committee, according to the Globe and Mail in Toronto.

Proving that there is not a direct correlation between personal wealth and intelligence.  Even with the American peso sinking against every currency on Earth except the Zimbabwe dollar, it would be insane to link us monetarily with Mexico and Central America.  And for any Canadian to want this is even more insane, because the Canadian dollar is at historical highs against many world currencies, including the American peso.

National Post of Toronto:

Promoting his province before a New York business audience recently, Jean Charest, the Quebec Premier, sprinkled his remarks with amusing quips.

Here’s one that would have brought the house down: His government believes it can convince the United Nations to quit New York for Montreal.

Last year, Raymond Bachand, the province’s economic development minister, allocated $100,000 for feasibility studies, while the federal, provincial and Montreal governments chipped in another $50,000 through promotion agency Montreal International.

If it were up to me, the UN wouldn’t be moving to Montreal or some other city outside of the USA as a matter of choice, but of necessity.

CNN:

A terrorist wanting to smuggle radioactive material from Canada into the United States probably would find it easy to do, a new report from congressional investigators said.

Government investigators were able to cross from Canada into the United States carrying a duffle bag with contents that looked like radioactive material and never encountered a law enforcement official, according to a report released Thursday by investigators from the Government Accountability Office.

Why not?  A juvenile illegal alien can steal a marked U.S. Border Patrol car while handcuffed, and drive it back into Mexico while still ‘cuffed, without any scrutiny.

Yesterday:  30,724.0

Note:  As an aside, it looks like us arrogant Yanks will have to stop making all those Canadian exchange-rate jokes.  The Canadian Dollar is almost at parity with the American Peso; $1C will get you 98.7 American cents as of last check.
