Meal Ticket March 3, 2008

A BHO Presidency is going to cost you. We’ll be begging for George W. Bush’s Africa tab by the time Obama is through.
On his last visit, Mr. Obama visited two area schools that had been renamed for him. The intention in renaming the schools seems to have been partly to attract funding. One person after another noted pointedly that it was a shame that a school named for a great American should be so dilapidated.
Some of Mr. Obama’s innumerable relatives also see him as a meal ticket. They have made arrangements with a tour group to bring buses of visitors to have tea with Mama Sarah.

Arch-Left Winger Admits: USA Becoming Third World March 3, 2008

The Emerging Third World US
by Francis Ferguson
I have an expression I present to my economics classes. It has a certain impact: the US is a a third world nation, we just haven’t realized it yet. Our emerging status isn’t obvious. Products remain relatively cheap (energy excluded) despite the falling value of the dollar against most foreign currencies. But there are real signs.
As Dr. Ferguson is a left-winger, he will not cite mass immigration and open borders as another fundamental reason. But it is the fundamental reason by the USA is becoming Third World, because you can’t have a First World country with Third World people. The deindustrialization of America is merely one consequence of the globalist zeitgeist — the others being open borders and international military empire.
I Wouldn’t Call This an Investment March 3, 2008

If you have nothing better do with with the $600 Uncle Sam is about to rebate you as a result of the Incumbent Elected Official Protection Act of 2008 (”economic stimulus package,” for outward consumption), this group would like you to donate it to the St. Louis City Public Schools. Rather, they want you to “invest” in the SLPS, which is a misnomer, because an “investment” implies that the investor expects something in return. It’s also not as if the SLPS doesn’t have enough money — even after the budget cuts of the Roberti Captivity, the SLPS still spends well above state average per pupil per year.
This “600 For Our Schools” organization doesn’t like the fact that the SLPS were taken over by the state last year, yet it wants to give more money to the SAB to spend. Remember, during the time which the SAB runs the SLPS, they, and not the elected but currently impotent school board, control the purse strings. However, it’s not as if this effort will mean much — even if they get 10,000 people to agree to donate their rebate to the SLPS, that only amounts to $6 million, which is about 1% of the SLPS annual budget.
Si Lopez Puede March 3, 2008

Yep, another Reconquista George. No, not the one at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I’m talking about the one that played the head of a squarely American middle household whose family members just happened to have tan skin, on an ABC.
Hollywood television celebrity and popular comedian George Lopez brought U.S. Sen. Barack Obama’s message of hope and change Wednesday afternoon to an estimated 1,200 potential young voters at the University of Texas at El Paso.
“It is the time of the Latino, your time to step up, your time to take this country over,” Lopez said, eliciting applause. “But si se puede doesn’t mean anything unless you go out and make it happen.”
Maybe they won’t take over America, but they have pretty much bagged El Paso. Here in the real world of America’s increasing Chicano/Mestizo population in places like El Paso and elsewhere, they don’t get along with blacks, their gangsters often feud with black gangsters, their working population is in direct competition with the black working population for what few crumbs remain of the American economy. The George Lopez constituency has been breaking for HRC, and they just might save her tortilla.

U.S. could intervene as Chavez prepares for war on Colombia
Venezuela threatened to declare war on neighbouring Colombia last night, raising the prospect of the U.S. being drawn into conflict in South America.
Venezuela’s Left-wing president Hugo Chavez ordered ten tank battalions to the Colombian border and put war-planes under emergency stand-by.
The tension follows Colombia’s decision to send its army to strike against anti-government guerrillas hiding in the jungles of Ecuador.
Nevertheless, not worth the bones of one single Pomeranian grenadier.
Curiously, Ecuador was in the news a few months ago, when Quito rejected an American demand to establish a military base in the country, stating that the only way they would allow it is if the Ecuadorian military could set up shop in America.
