The common canard by urban crime excuseologists is that “innocent” people (read:  mostly white, but some black) have nothing to worry about from urban crime (read:  black), because most murder victims know their assailant, the implication being that most victims honestly deserve being murdered because they willingly run with a gang or other illicit hustle.  The imperative being that white people have nothing to fear by moving back into the city.

Really?  Tell that to the family of 80-year old Julia Steele.  Terrence Wren, 22, who is a gang member (according to the TV news), shot and killed her as he was exchanging fire in this city’s gang wars.

The Federal government had its first $1 trillion budget in 1987, towards the end of the Reagan administration.  Through the whole of Bush 41’s and Clinton’s time in office, twelve years between them, the Federal budget still started with a 1.

Bush 43 has presided over the first $2 trillion budget (2002), and will apparently do so over the first $3 trillion one (2009).  Thankfully, this is final budget proposal — if he had a shot at one more, that would would probably be $4 trillion.

Remember, for three-quarters of the Bush 43 administration, he had a Republican House.
