Governor’s plan will protect homeowner from mortgage fraud
Under a new plan announced today by Gov. Matt Blunt, those who commit mortgage fraud against Missouri homebuyers could soon be sent to prison.
Blunt announced new proposals to protect Missouri homeowners and strengthen the penalties against those who commit mortgage fraud. He also established a new free hotline for Missourians to report fraud and access information to protect themselves against foreclosure.
“Homeownership is an essential part of the American dream,” Blunt said in a news release. “For many Missouri families, buying a home is the biggest financial investment they will ever make. Our plan will help at-risk homeowners keep their homes by providing new consumer protections and creating new penalties for those who commit mortgage fraud including prison time and steep monetary fines.”
Blunt’s proposal includes legislation to further enhance consumer knowledge, protect against unscrupulous businesses that prey upon at-risk homeowners and create new punishments for mortgage fraud.
So, if the lenders don’t give mortgages to certain “at-risk” people (read: racial minorities), they’re bad. If they do (like they had until recently, creating the current “subprime crisis,”) then they’re accused of fraud, and Governor Blunt wants to send them to prison.
When will Governor Blunt want to ban stupid borrowers? Oh, I forgot. You can’t fix stupid.
UPDATE 1/15: And wouldn’t you know it — there’s a left-wing national organization United for a Fair Economy (UFE), complaining that mortgage lenders tricked non-whites into agreeing to subprime mortgages. If they never did, then UFE would be complaining that non-whites are being denied access to credit.

Al-Qaeda’s white army of terror
HUNDREDS of British non-Muslims have been recruited by al-Qaeda to wage war against the West, senior security sources warned last night.
As many as 1,500 white Britons are believed to have converted to Islam for the purpose of funding, planning and carrying out surprise terror attacks inside the UK, according to one MI5 source.
Lord Carlile, the Government’s independent reviewer of anti-terrorism legislation, said many of the converts had been targeted by radical Muslims while serving prison terms.
Security experts say the growing secret army of white terrorists poses a particularly serious threat as they are far less likely to be detected than members of the Asian community.

Carlile said the majority of converts were targeted when they were in prison: “These (converts] are outside the standard type of profile which most police forces would have of a terrorist, which is male, young, and of Middle Eastern or Asian appearance. That is why they are so potentially dangerous.”
Why not? Islam is the de facto official religion of the UK, so much so that any white right-winger who dare criticize it will get tossed into said hoosegows for being “hate criminals.” So why wouldn’t young white people get suckered into it? I also think that a lot of these white AQ types are left-wing college students who think that gravitating towards AQ and Islam in general means that you’re “keepin’ it real” and “down with the struggle” against evil white people.
I wonder what The Sccotman’s editorial positions are.

Michigan Crowd Boos McCain on Illegal Immigration
Sen. John McCain of Arizona, winner of last Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary, drew cheers and jeers from an audience of over 500 conservative activists in Michigan over the weekend

Globalism, he told the audience, is not going away. “Some jobs that have left Michigan aren’t coming back, and the answer is not to create false hopes that we can bring back lost jobs — but to create new ones,” McCain said, to a stony silence.
McCain, who engaged the audience in a lengthy Q&A period, drew howls of protest and boos when he expressed support for allowing most illegal aliens to stay in the United States and when he opposed against any form of protectionism.
In that, his open-borders stance is totally consistent with his notion that “globalism isn’t going away” (i.e. he really wants it to stay) and thus “protectionism” should be opposed. The globalist that doesn’t want any restrictions on the free flow of goods between the fictions formerly known as national borders would no more want restrictions on the free flow of people between the fictions formerly known as national borders.

Every time we lampoon the left about what they want to do, thinking that we’re just speaking tongue-in-cheek, they wind up actually proposing such an idea.
Larry Suffredin, a Democrat candidate for State’s Attorney in Crook County, People’s Republic of Illinois, wants to “take on guns.” So far, no gun has yet responded to Mr. Suffredin’s criticism.
