AP: Hate Crimes Up 8% in 2006 over 2005 (and Nooses, Nooses, Nooses, Nooses, Nooses, Nooses, Nooses, Nooses…) November 19, 2007

AP devotes an article about an 8% rise in hate crimes in 2006 over 2005, and spends most of the article talking about nooses. Remember, most people hung to death with a noose in America were white.
AP:
Hate crime incidents in the United States rose last year by nearly 8 percent, the FBI reported Monday, as racial prejudice continued to account for more than half the reported instances.
Police across the nation reported 7,722 criminal incidents in 2006 targeting victims or property as a result of bias against a particular race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnic or national origin or physical or mental disability. That was up 7.8 percent from the 7,163 incidents reported in 2005.
Although the noose incidents and beatings among students at Jena, La., high school occurred in the last half of 2006, they were not included in the report.
Of course it wasn’t because the noose-hanging incident wasn’t a crime, much less a hate crime. As far as the “Jena 6″ assault on Justin Barker, if D.A. Reed Walters did not attach hate riders onto the charges against the six, he probably had a very good reason in not doing so. Since he has stood Stonewall Jackson-like against the MSM PC pressure cooker, I would trust his judgment here. Perhaps Louisiana does not have applicable laws, either.
Nevertheless, the Jena incidents, and a rash of subsequent noose incidents around the country, have spawned civil rights protests in Louisiana and last week at Justice Department headquarters here.
More like a rash of subsequent noose hoaxes.
If this data are true, then my bet is the increasing wave of Hispanic-on-black and black-on-Hispanic hate-motivated violence in areas where they are close together, such as southern California. Remember, though, since Hispanic criminals are counted as white (while Hispanic victims are counted as Hispanic), a Hispanic-on-black hate crime is recorded as “white”-on-black on the official books. Since 60% of hate crime offenders are officially “white,” I would imagine a lot of these “whites” are Hispanics.
UPDATE 2:30 PM: FBI’s table on hate crime victims, hat tip to Robert Spencer. Thankfully, now, the FBI does measure, and law enforcement does recognize, anti-white, anti-heterosexual, anti-Catholic and anti-Protestant hate crimes. Perhaps they also need to measure anti-religion-in-general, and anti-Christian (i.e. in general, and not related to denomination) hate crimes. Since many of the anti-Jewish hate crimes probably have Muslim, non-white and/or black perpetrators, I think those kinds of hate crimes fit the essence of an anti-white hate crime, because race, not religion/ethnicity, is the true motivation for some of those perpetrators vis-a-vis their victims.
