Expert: Hamas, Hizbullah cells may be active in Mexico
Former CIA official warns that terror groups, Iran may exploit permeable US border with Mexico to infiltrate terrorists into US
The US is concerned that Hamas and Hizbullah agents may penetrate the porous US-Mexican border in order to carry out terrorist attacks, according to Robert Grenier, the former head of the US Central Intelligence Agency’s counterterrorism center.
(snip)
According to the US counterterrorism expert, American officials are concerned that terrorists will tap into illegal immigrant and/or drug trafficking networks in order to use them to bring people and equipment into the US.
The future and uncertain tense of the previous paragraphs would make sense if this article were written seven years ago.
Otherwise, if the “US is concerned” that H&H “may penetrate the porous US-Mexican border,” then the easy solution is to fortify said porous border. Like, Duh.

What Exactly Is Hip-Hop Journalism? November 2, 2007

High schoolers between the ages of 12 and 17 are eligible for a free hip-hop journalism seminar, sponsored by the Urban Artist Alliance for Child Development (UAACD).
The one day seminar goes from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM on November 17th at the UMSL campus. Those in attendance will learn about the art and practice of hip-hop journalism.
Interested students should … complete an online application at cornerpocketmag.com. Applications are due November 14th and space is limited to 25 students.
I went to that URL and downloaded a few copies of their “literary journal.” Most of it is a non-stop stream of blame whitey and hate whitey screed, replete with “stories” about how black teenagers had all these dreams to do all these great things, and out of the ether, drugs, guns, vacant buildings, white cops and white judges came along, squashed all those dreams, and sent the teenagers to the JDC (juvenile detention center, an acronym which figures prominently into the journal’s prose, whodathunkit), or to adult prison.
I don’t know what “hip-hop journalism” is, but that gives me a pretty good idea. Also, I don’t know of many 12-year old high school students.
