The Poetic Justice page on the St. Louis CofCC Static Webpage has a couple of updates.

(1) “Lucky Dube,” a South African reggae singer, was not so lucky. After making a career of writing anti-apartheid and anti-white music, he was carjacked and shot to death by two men last night in suburban Johannesburg. And it’s not surprising because:

South Africa has one of the highest crime rates in the world, recording an average of 50 murders each day. U.N. crime statistics say one in three Johannesburg residents has been robbed. Rapes and assaults also are common.

He wanted equality, and he got equality.

(2) Timothy Treadwell, of “Timothy and the Three Bears,” had a movie made about his life’s story. Called Into the Wild, it stars Emile Hirsch as the Treadwell-like Christopher McCandless, and is directed by Sean Penn. The Post has the local showtimes. Netflix will have it in a few months.

California SB 777 Not So Lucky October 19, 2007

Remember this, from last year?

It came to pass this year, in the form of California Senate Bill SB 777, which did pass both chambers, and was signed into law by Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Under the guise of “non-discrimination” on the basis of sexual and gender orientation in public schools, the terms “mom” and “dad” will now be banished from textbooks. More amazingly:

England noted that the district website confirms if a male perceives himself as a female, “he must be granted access to female locker rooms and restrooms. He must be allowed to participate in female sports activities.

I get the feeling now that there will be a sudden surge in the number of teenage boys in California that call themselves TS/TG. Though if equity is their only concern, this is only fair play, because girls and women have access to boy’s and men’s locker rooms for the sake of gender equity in journalism.

Talking Points October 19, 2007

Missouri Political News Service:

MO. Bar Association Offers “Non Partisan Court Plan” Talking Points to its Members

Here’s an example of “liberal elitism” at its finest. The Missouri Bar Association is offering what it labels “Seek, Speak and Teach Resources” to its membership. Try not to be too insulted as you read below what they think of us “lay public.”

I have two talking points in rebuttal.

(1)  In the entire history of the Missouri non-partisan plan, not one single judge has been rejected at the ballot box.  Not one.

(2)  If the MO-NPP is so great, why don’t the state trial level courts in 113 of 116 Missouri counties use it?  Only trial level courts in St. Louis City, St. Louis County and Jackson County, plus the State Courts of Appeal, and the State Supreme Court, use it.

Watch Out, Barack. The Reparations Man Cometh. October 19, 2007

The more appropriate question is this:  Who’s Obama?

In the story where we found out that BHO and Dick Cheney are 8th cousins, and that BHO and President Bush are 9th cousins once removed, we also found out that BHO has slave owners as ancestors, but no slaves as ancestors.

This means that, if reparations come along, will he have to pay them?

Who Didn’t See This Coming? October 19, 2007

Now, the next great “civil rights” crusade when it comes to criminal justice is that the industry wants to establish 15 years old as a minimum age for a murder convict to receive life in adult prison.  The same mindset finds nothing wrong with birth control pills for 11-year old girls and graphic pamphlets detailing homosexual sex for 10-year olds.

Who didn’t see this coming after the SCOTUS 18-minimum for death ruling?

Agence France Presse:

More than 70 inmates in US prisons were 13 or 14 years old when they committed their crimes — too young to drive or watch a scary movie but old enough to spend the rest of their lives in jail, according to a report.

This situation does not exist anywhere else in the world, according to the report by the Alabama-based Equal Justice Initiative.

But it will exist in Europe as it becomes more and more non-white.

At least 2,225 juveniles aged 17 or younger have been sentenced to life imprisonment with no possibility of parole, a punishment forbidden by the UN Convention on the Rights of Children, which the United States has not ratified.

Among those juveniles, 73 were under the age of 15 when they committed the crime. And half of them are African-American, hardly representative of a society where 12 percent of the population is black.

But it might well be representative of the racial composition of people under the age of 15 that are convicted of first-degree murder.

“This is an unintended and disastrous consequence of prosecuting children as adults: children too young to drive, or even see a scary movie by themselves, are being sentenced to die in adult prisons,” said EJI director Bryan Stevenson.

So, you can’t be a stone-cold murderer until you can drive a car or see an R-rated movie by yourself.

EJI lawyers have filed appeals in courts across the country contesting the constitutionality of the harsh sentences for those under 15.

Curiously, the Equal Justice Institute is based in Montgomery, Alabama. I wonder if they have anything to do with you-know-what and you-know-who. I cannot find anything that makes a formal, institutional, or financial link between the two, except that the latter’s publications have praised the former. Yes, they’re two peas, but not in the same pod.

Back to the subject matter at hand, you know what’s going to happen if the EJI gets its way. The gangs will farm out their murder duties to members under 15. And I also think there would be more murders. This EJI must want more crime.

Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO) wants the Feds to pony up for a new Federal court house, representing a new Federal district court jurisdiction, based in Jefferson City.  He said that:

“The need for a new federal judicial facility in Missouri’s capital is well documented.”

Hmm.  What does Mr. Skelton know that we don’t about skeletons in some state politicians’ Jefferson City closets?

St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

Citing fear of gang violence, Hazelwood school officials have canceled a homecoming bonfire and pep rally that was to be held tonight at Hazelwood West High School.

Administrators called off the rally after a warning from police, district spokeswoman Diana Gulotta said.

“Hazelwood police came to us with information that a gang had more or less targeted that event,” she said.

Gulotta said the threat was not specific, but police had deemed it “serious.”

“We trust the Hazelwood Police Department’s knowledge on this issue, and that’s why we canceled the bonfire.”

Other media reports have indicated that the gang targeting this bonfire has serious firepower, including fully automatic weapons.  If this information is coming from some mole running with the gang, why hasn’t the ATF gotten involved?

The bonfire was to be set on a field in front of the high school, just off Howdershell Road, less than a mile north of Interstate 270. The event had been a tradition at the school for at least the past seven years, Gulotta said. It featured music, cheerleading and the introduction of members of the school’s fall varsity teams.

What, no sacrificing of virgins?

Asked whether he was referring to an established gang affiliated with the Crips or the Bloods, Hall said: “Gang activity in the St. Louis area that had dwindled for the last few years is starting to pick up again. And the way the gangs promote themselves has changed. It’s not as easy to determine gang members’ affiliations as it once was.”

The reason for that is that, as the cops and authorities ship away existing gang members and other assorted ne’er-do-wells for violent crimes or drug dealing, this opens the territory for new gangs and new “bangaz” to reformat the dope dealing territory and boundaries, leading to fresh violence.

Most anti-crime efforts are good at chopping down the weeds, but because nobody knows how the roots got there, or has any idea how to pull them up, (or the truth is taboo), they’ll just keep growing back, in spite of the weed-free respite that your lawn will have for a few weeks.

“Hip-Hop Nation” Comes Out For Their Thugs October 19, 2007

Hey, BET. I have three words that will strike fear into your very heart: A la carte.

Alexandria (La.) Town Talk:

Two of the teens enmeshed in the nationally known “Jena Six” case helped present the most anticipated award during Black Entertainment Television’s Hip Hop Awards show broadcast Thursday night.

Carwin Jones and Bryant Purvis were introduced by Katt Williams, a comedian and the awards show’s host, as two of the students involved in a case of “systematic racism.”

“By no means are we condoning a six-on-one beat-down,” Williams said during his introduction of the teens, one of whom is still facing attempted murder charges in connection with the attack on white student Justin Barker. “… But the injustice perpetrated on these young men is straight criminal.”

Yes you are condoning it.

Also attending the show was Mychal Bell’s father, Marcus Jones; Carwin Jones’ parents, John Jenkins and Dwanda Jones; and Theo McCoy, the father of Theo Shaw, another defendant.

Remember, Mr. Bell’s father didn’t want any part of his son’s life until this happened. Then, all of a sudden, he swooped back in. I guess all that pity money from white liberals is too tempting to pass up.

She said her son was most excited about meeting rappers Birdman and Lil Wayne.

What, not T.I.? Oh, yeah, that’s right. He couldn’t check out of a graybar hotel to attend.

Some have questioned if Carwin Jones and Purvis were allowed to leave the state legally, but Bill Furlow, a spokesman for LaSalle Parish District Attorney Reed Walters, said the boys sought and received the court’s permission before going.

Jenkins said the past few months have been stressful for everyone involved and that it was “good to see the kids go out and have fun and laugh.”

I’m sure Justin Barker, who will have irreparable injuries, is just thrilled to see two of his assailants “having fun and laughing.”

“They can find somebody else to march for them (be)cause I will not be there the next time, and whoever invited them to this should be slapped,” one person wrote on the BET blog. “(You’re) not setting a good example for the justice that everyone is fighting for. You look like the thugs they said the Jena 6 are. Thanks for making us look stupid!”

Actually, I lay the blame on the axis of the MSM, the Paranoia-Industrial Complex, and the Civil Rights Industry. They’re the ones that played you for a fool.

Bell is currently at the Renaissance Home for Youth in Alexandria , said the Rev. B.L. Moran of Jena, who has actively advocated for the teens, including testifying at a congressional hearing earlier this week.

The Renaissance Home for Youth is the juvenile prison where he is spending most of the next year-and-a-half. I bet he’s another one that’s thrilled to see two of his “homeyz” hamming it up, and livin’ large, while he himself is now probably on the “Home’s” daily sodomy menu for 18 months. This might make him angry and jealous enough to flip.
