Delaware State University Shooting September 22, 2007

Here is an example of a phenomenon this blogmeister wrote of earlier this week, that many more school shootings happen than the ones that the MSM harp on, for racial reasons. While there is some media coverage about the shooting of two 17-year old Delaware State University students, one man, one woman, both from Washington, D.C., early Friday morning, by either one or two suspects, depending on which story you read, this story will fall off the media radar within a few days.

While the woman’s injuries were more serious, and she might not make it, the man was less seriously injured, but curiously, he isn’t helping authorities with their investigation. This leads me to believe that this was something approximating a gangland fight, or at the very least, he fears retribution if the word gets out that he “snitched.”

Delaware State University, in Dover, is a historically black institution, and the Washington, D.C. residence for both victims is a giveaway to their racial identities, but we have no arrested or identified suspects yet.

Today’s Jena Stack of Stuff September 22, 2007

(1) The thing that we have to remember, in the middle of a thousands-large protest by the civil rights industry in Jena itself, and the MSM agitprop over the matter, is that the authorities in La Salle Parish still have the final say. It won’t be black-clad screaming blacks who will decide the matter, and because Louisiana’s Governor, currently a white moderately liberal woman, Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, has limited pardon powers, neither she nor her likely successor in Bobby Jindal, are important players, either.

All that matters to me is if the judges, juries and prosecutors in La Salle Parish do their jobs. And so far, as evidenced by yesterday’s news that a La Salle Parish juvenile court judge ruled that one Mr. Mychael Bell will have to stay in jail, pending the decision by the office of D.A. Reed Walters what to do next, now that the courts have ruled that he can only be charged as a juvenile for his alleged crimes, all the lead actors in this drama are staying on part.

(2) Jared Taylor and the local newspaper in Jena (archived at Blue Collar Republican Blog) have more exhaustive (and truthful) narratives and timelines.

“Whenever You Have More Than Three People, There’s Going To Be Crime” September 22, 2007

So said 3rd Ward Alderman Freeman Bosley, Sr., in the midsts of a unanimous resolution yesterday of the St. Louis City Board of Aldermen to support St. Louis City Police Chief Joe Mokwa.

That’s probably true in his home ward, but not everywhere.

Note the city map of police districts, with the number of murders, rapes and assaults broken down by district.

The one on the right is often abused

KSDK-NBC-5:

Vandals toppled a 160-year-old marble bust of Christ from a grand staircase landing at the Boston Public Library, leaving a companion sculpture of Lucifer undamaged, a library spokeswoman said.

The bust, which broke into a few pieces, will be repaired, Mary Bender told The Boston Globe for a story in Friday’s editions. Lucifer has been removed from display until better protection is arranged.

(snip)

According to a police report, a man and a woman were seen on a library surveillance video attacking the bust at 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 12. The video showed the woman throwing something at the sculpture and pushing it off a ledge. The suspects fled.

“People reported hearing a crash,” Bender told the Globe.

She said a man tried to vandalize the bust in the 1970s but was tackled by an employee. Lucifer was spared that time, too.

If Lucifer would have been damaged and Jesus would have been left alone, Boston’s civic elite, its news media, and the uber-liberal Governor of the People’s Republic of Massachusetts would already be mouthing off about hate crimes.

City Personnel Director Lets the Racial Cat Out of the Bag September 22, 2007

It didn’t take yours truly for you to realize that race was the reason why 1,350 St. Louis Fire Department entry exams, even for the 30% that passed, were thrown out.  But City Personnel Director Richard Frank let the cat out of the bag with the above statement found in his e-mails to other City Hall officials.

While there is some dispute over the actual number of men and women that took the tests, that’s only a minor issue compared to the racial scandal of the matter.

Connecticut Governor Temporarily Halts Parole For Violent Criminals September 22, 2007

Fox News:

Gov. M. Jodi Rell banned parole on Friday for all Connecticut inmates serving prison time for violent offenses following a string of crimes police say were committed by parolees.

The parole ban will be in effect until state lawmakers reform its parole process, she said. Critics worried the move would swell the state’s already crowded prisons.

“I will not allow public safety to be jeopardized because parolees return to a life of crime,” Rell, a Republican, said.

Rell’s announcement came two months after two convicted burglars on parole were charged in a violent home invasion in the wealthy town of Cheshire that left a woman and her two daughters dead. The governor’s decision also was influenced by a Friday conflict in which New York City police shot and wounded a state parolee they said threatened them with a knife.

Perhaps the silver lining of the cloud of the murders allegedly committed by Messrs. Hayes and Komisarjevsky, both white parolees, is that they were white. If they were black or Hispanic, and Gov. Rell would have taken this necessary and desperately overdue executive action in the wake of similarly necessary and desperately overdue legislative reform, then the state’s civil rights industry would be whining about disparate impact. I’m surprised they aren’t doing so anyway.

Fiftieth Anniversary of “Iron Fist in ‘Free’ America” September 22, 2007

Juan Williams, FNC and NPR commentator, uses the 50th anniversary of the forced integration of Little Rock Central High School, which the Manchester (N.H.) Union Leader described in its issue the following day with the big bold headlines “GUNS INTEGRATE SCHOOLS: THE IRON FIST IN “FREE” AMERICA,” as an opportunity to encourage Federal politicians to renew President Bush’s neo-liberal and decidedly egalitarian “No Child Can Get Ahead” (NCLB) Bill.

Since the article is entitled “The Legacy of Little Rock,” I’ll offer my own assessment of that invocation. In the years preceeding Ike’s Iron Fist, the black high school which served the same area as white-segregated Central H.S. did was better-funded than Central. Yet, that didn’t matter to the integrationist and egalitarian crazies, who wanted those things uber alles. Likewise, today, the better-funded urban school districts still can’t measure up academically to certain rural districts that spend less than one-third of what the urban districts do, in terms of per student-per year.
