City Governments and Illegal Immigration August 12, 2007

Have you noticed?
When a city like Hazleton, Penn., or Valley Park, Mo., enacts anti-illegal immigration ordinances (which almost always mirror Federal laws), the left-wing has a fit. “You can’t do that, immigration is exclusively Federal jurisdiction. Nobody else but them can and should enforce immigration law, yulp yulp yulp.” (The disparate impact being that immigration law is never enforced).
But some of these same libs and open borders “conservatives” seem to have no problem with sanctuary cities, i.e. cities who prohibit their local cops from reporting suspected illegal aliens to ICE (formerly INS).
If immigration is entirely within Federal jurisdiction, and you believe that mentality, then it should be just as wrong to obstruct justice as it is to enforce justice.
