Chertoff Has “Gut Feeling” About Terrorism July 10, 2007

In an unusually blunt and frank assessment of America’s terror threat level, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said in Chicago this morning that his “gut feeling” is the nation faces a heightened chance of an attack this summer.
“I believe we are entering a period this summer of increased risk,” Chertoff told the Chicago Tribune’s editorial board.
Calling it “a gut feeling” based on past patterns of terrorists in Europe, recent al-Qaeda statements and intelligence he did not disclose, Chertoff said of terrorists: “Summertime seems to be appealing to them. … We worry that they are rebuilding their activities.”
A recent terror plot in London and Scotland has America’s defense system on alert, Chertoff said. He urged Americans to be attentive if something appears suspicious. But he said there is an assessment “not of a specific threat, but of increased vulnerability.”
Chertoff is for open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens, he sits back like a doily and let the U.S. Justice Department railroad his ICE and U.S. Border Patrol agents into prison, and he panders to the decidedly anti-racial profiling NAACP. If he has a “gut feeling” that we’re going to be hit by terrorist attacks this summer, perhaps it is because his brain is telling his gut that his actions are causing the “increased risk.”
London Police: Yes to AQ, No to BNP July 10, 2007

This blog had a story on Saturday that various police agencies in England, including the Met of London and New Scotland Yard, have hired Al Qaeda members, and are unable to get rid of them, because of diversity mandates.
Yet, as a story in American Renaissance story in its May 2006 issue informed us, the story being about race in England in the years following 9/11, the Met, in June 2005, enacted a policy that specifically prohibited the hiring of British National Party (BNP) members in the Department.
Perhaps the anomaly can best be explained by London Mayor “Red” Ken Livingstone, who recently informed us that the BNP, not radical Muslims, are responsible for radical Islamic terrorism.

However, Etheridge aside, it was nonmusicians at this concert who made the most passionate pleas about demanding action for the environment. “Get rid of all these rotten politicians that we have in Washington, who are nothing more than corporate toadies,” said Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the environmentalist author, president of Waterkeeper Alliance and Robert F. Kennedy’s son, who grew hoarse from shouting. “This is treason. And we need to start treating them as traitors.”
The traditional punishment for treason is execution.
Home Depot Faces Declining Earnings July 10, 2007

AP:
ATLANTA - The Home Depot Inc., the world’s largest home improvement store chain, warned Tuesday that its earnings will decline this year more than previously expected because of weak conditions in the housing market and the sale of its wholesale distribution business.
The Atlanta-based company said it now expects its earnings per share to decline by 15 percent to 18 percent for fiscal 2007. In May, the company had projected an earnings per share decline of 9 percent for the year.
The earlier guidance included an estimated 18 cents of earnings per share contribution from the company’s HD Supply unit for the last six months of the fiscal year.
Another reason is that Home Depot prohibits its employees (other than their “loss prevention agents,” i.e. security guards), from calling the police when they see someone shoplifting from the store. A manager of a Home Depot location in St. Louis told this writer, when I asked him about it, that the reason for the policy was to give a “diverse body of shoppers a shopping experience free of intimidation.” In other words, they would rather have blacks and Hispanics steal from their stores than anger civil rights agitators, and have them call a boycott of Home Depot. They must think that it’s part of the cost of doing business in an increasingly diverse country, but by the same token, if it contributes to their declining earnings, they have no moral authority to complain.
